A new luxurious stay for tourists has come up at Pakyong, the airport town of Sikkim and about 25 km away from Gangtok.
Vivanta Sikkim, operated by the Indian Hotels Company (IHCL), started welcoming its guests from November 30. The 50-room stylishly designed hotel offers a comfortable retreat for tourists looking to spend some rejuvenating days in Sikkim.
Shrada Sharma, a Gangtokian and managing director of Skipping Stones Pvt Ltd which owns the plush hotel, spoke with Swatantra Aawaj. She shares about the Vivanta Sikkim Pakyong adding value to the high-end tourism push of Sikkim, the local ownership for sustainable tourism, and the direct & indirect benefits the hospitality property ushers in for the locals.
Sandeep Das, hotel manager, Vivanta Sikkim Pakyong, adds that Sikkim is an unexplored destination for high-end tourists and how IHCL, which also runs the Taj Group of Hotels, plans to attract such clientele to Sikkim through Vivanta Sikkim Pakyong.
